Mazer Sterling Retro style Leaf Fur Clip Brooch
My research indicates that this design was made in 1947.
Heavy Gold plate and Rhodium finish,
The Pin clip is marked Sterling, Actually,
This brooch is signed in a "Double Strike" MAZER has been struck over the word Sterling
The body of this piece is Not sterling,
Remember that metals were still restricted in 1947 so getting new hardware in non-sterling wasn't in the pipeline yet
so they were using up War time stock, Sterling Fur clip mechanisms,
it is also why there are so few clips after 1947....
findings companies didn't produce them again...
just straight pins ... less metal used
Clip is in very good condition
has a few scratches consistent with wear and shown in the photos,
please look carefully at photos.
